My name is Leslie Thompson, I was coined this name after signing up for the 2008 Disney Marathon despite weighing 392lbs.  I was derailed by foot problems but on I went to Orlando.   I was picked up at mile 2 because I couldn’t keep the 16 min per mile pace.  This is a feeling I will never forget, as well as the people that were cheering me on.

Next came the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon and the U.S Cellular Marathon completed in 4:29:47 and 3:56:52 respectively.  I didn’t want to suffer the same fate as the Disney so I chose the half marathons. This gave me a great boost in confidence and motivation.  Having shed a few pounds but no where near what I wanted to be at. I signed up for the 2009 Disney Marathon anyway.
